Jazz-trained electronica group FLOCKS return with the first of a clutch of remixes from their critically acclaimed album ‘You Were Probably Younger Then’.

The album released via Asta Hiroki’s label - Folded Music in August 2022 was inspired by youthful energy and dream-like introspective states. Exploring a plethora of musical styles, and covering more musical ground in one record than many groups manage in a career, the record is an experiential joy and received widespread critical acclaim and support from the likes of Tom Ravenscroft, Nabihah Iqbal, BBC6Music, FIP, JazzFM and more.

Now Swiss percussionist/producer and fellow Jazz/Electronica aficionado – Arthur Hnatek reworks the title track from the record, flipping it from progressive jazztronica into a cerebral left field dance and electronica cut.

Showcasing both sides of his talents the rhythms and percussive flutters and leads are naturally central to the mix, as he brings in swathes of swirling sound design for an esoteric listen.

Hnatek’s musical pedigree aligns well with the project, having previous credits with Tigran Hamasyan (ECM) and the Erik Truffaz Quartet, sustained support from European radio stations, and regular Spotify editorial placements.
